Software Engineer
The Corporation for National Research Initiatives (CNRI) has an
immediate employment opportunity for a mid- to senior-level software
engineer for its Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) program. CNRI
is seeking exceptional individuals to join a small, world-class team and
help us develop an environment in which the enormous commercial,
scientific, and military potential of MEMS technology can be fully
realized. This is a highly visible position in a national level program
and is an extraordinary opportunity for the right candidate.
CNRI is seeking a software developer or engineer who has experience in
developing Internet-based tools to handle operational functions (e.g.,
scheduling, logistics, reimbursement, etc.,) for a geographically
distributed virtual MEMS microfabrication environment. This person will
be responsible for developing software to schedule process runs at the
fabrications sites, coordinate the logistics of the wafers and masks
passing from site to site, and handle the billing of users for services
rendered. The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive
training and experience in developing and maintaining interactive
Internet Web sites and a extensive working knowledge of object-oriented
and non-object-oriented programming languages, such as Java, Python, C,
and C++. A positive, innovative, and willing to learn attitude are
essential. A knowledge of MEMS or IC microfabrication is desirable, but
not mandatory. Of particular interest are candidates who have
experience in electronic commerce and secure transactions over the
Internet. The minimum qualifications for this position are a Bachelors
Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (Master’s
Preferred) and two to five years of experience applicable to the
employment task at CNRI. This position requires a highly motivated
person with excellent communication and technical skills who can
successfully work within a small team at CNRI. Extensive interaction
with the service providers at the fabrication facilities and the user
community, both of which are located around the country, is required.
