Posting services to the labnetwork

I will weigh in on the issue of vendor postings.

I have, over the years, belonged to several net lists.
Much of what gets posted is fluff. That is the nature of
lists. Significant numbers of "legitimate" questions could be
eliminated if authors would spend an hour in the library,
("A year in the research lab can save of day in the library").
Signature files with appended quotations add to net fluff and
waste a readers time yet they are ubiquitous.

The recent posting to the labnet about stepper and pattern
generator support comes from a company I have dealt with for
more than a decade. They have given us terrific support. Finding
them was a great asset for us here at UC Berkeley Microfabrication
Lab. Their posting was terse and to the point.

                                        Sincerely,
                                        Bob Hamilton
