We are currently soliciting contributions to the Journal of Smart
Materials and Structures for a special issue on Space Applications for
MEMS. Topics include, but are not limited to:
- micropropulsion and microthrusters navigational tools,
- accelerometers, and gyroscopes
- power for miniature spacecraft
- scientific instrumentation, spectroscopes, sensors
- radiation hardness and mechanical computing
- system integration and packaging.
Instructions for Submissions:
1. Abstract: As soon as possible, send a "notice of intent" including
an abstract (< 500 words) via electronic mail to the editor, Karl
Bohringer, at karl@ee.washington.edu.
2. Full Paper: By March 31, 2000, send a full length paper (maximum:
30 double spaced pages including figures) to the editor, Karl
Bohringer, at the address above. Hardcopies or electronic
submissions are both acceptable.
Comments to the authors will be sent in April/May 2000. This special
issue on Space Applications for MEMS is expected to include
approximately 16 articles. Target date for publication is Summer 2000.
