We have the following described Hitachi model S2300 SEM for sale. The system
is currently installed and demo'able, photo's attached. Regards
The S-2300 has a W-filament e-gun, 25kV maximum accelerating voltage,
S5104 x-ray mode and S5109 dynamic focus/raster rotation plug-in units,
x200,000 maximum magnification, 4.5 nm resolution. The resolution number
is a little optimistic for practical purposes. That's the original
specification and you can image features that small, but it's pretty
fuzzy. Part of this (maybe all) is due to the fact I don't have the
special sample mount used for very high-mag work that fixes the sample
rigidly to bottom of the electron column. The system is diffusion pumped,
backed by a relatively new (2yr) Edwards E2M12. It has been under an
option 2 service contract continuously since 1994.
