The University of Texas at Austin Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering invites applications for the Judson S. Swearingen Regents Chair
in Engineering in the following areas of expertise: nanostructures and
nano-devices, semiconductor devices and materials, optoelectronic devices,
and MEMS. This endowed chair is for a senior position that requires
leadership in the applicant's field of expertise. Applicants for this
tenured position should have a PhD in electrical engineering or related
discipline and have demonstrated a strong commitment to high-quality
undergraduate and graduate teaching and to the development of a strong
sponsored research program.. Successful candidates are expected to teach
undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a strong research program,
collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the
