For the past 30 years, the IEEE University/Government/Industry Microelectronics Symposium has brought together leading engineering educators and researchers from labs around the world to promote increased collaboration and partnerships in the area of microelectronics and micro/nano-fabrication. This year, nearly 100 papers from 38 universities, 15 corporate and government labs, and 5 countries will be presented. Attached please find the advance program and registration information for the 15th Biennial IEEE UGIM Symposium in Boise, ID, June 29-July 2nd. The early registration deadline is May 30th. You may register by mail, FAX, or by electronic payment on-line at our conference webpage http://coen.boisestate.edu/ugim03.
 
On Sunday afternoon, June 29 at 2:00pm, the traditional Lab Manager's Workshop will be held in the Micron Engineering Center, followed by tours of BSU's Idaho Microfabrication Laboratory. This year's workshop is titled "Microlab Management: How I do it" by Katalin Voros, covering efficient lab management practices and discussions on issues common to such facilities. The UGIM'03 opening session will begin on Mon. June 30 at 8:30am in the BSU Student Union Jordan Ballroom with a keynote address by Dr.Tsu Jae King, UC Berkeley, titled: "Sustaining the Silicon Revolution". On Tuesday evening, July 1st, the symposium participants and their guests will be treated to a Basque cultural banquet in the heart of Boise's Basque Block. The first "Microelectronics Leadership Award" will be given, while enjoying authentic Basque cuisine and a performance of the famous Basque Oinkari dancers. The symposium will conclude at noon on Wed., July 2nd. Please sign up for these extra events on your registration form.
 
AUTHORS: You should upload your final manuscript to the UGIM web page by May 2 for publication in the proceedings. If you choose to have your PowerPoint slides included in the CD-ROM, you should also upload them to the web page by June 1st. UGIM'03 follows the Boise River Festival (June 27-29) which is a free three-day citywide celebration.
