The Micromechanical Sensors Group at Draper Laboratory has an opening for a
fab manager to supervise operations in our 6000 square foot, class 100-1000
cleanroom.
The job will consist of a mix of technical management and MEMS process
development, likely skewed towards management.
We are looking for someone to supervise all aspects of the MEMS cleanroom,
including supervising technicians and managing runs through the fab;
revising, updating and managing process quality control and equipment
preventative maintenance; identifying new equipment needs; and other
day-to-day and strategic aspects of the cleanroom management. The fab
manager will interface with the research staff to ensure the facility meets
the needs of current and future Draper R&D projects. Duties will also
include periodic reporting of equipment/fab run status, and supervising
ordering of supplies, tracking fab use and assigning charges to projects.
Additionally, the fab manager should serve as a general consultant on MEMS
processing for research staff and technicians. Duties will include process
troubleshooting and some new process development.
Draper Laboratory (www.draper.com) is an independent, not-for-profit
corporation dedicated to applied research, engineering development,
education, and technology transfer. Draper Laboratory's MEMS design and
fabrication experience goes back almost twenty years, with our early
inertial MEMS instruments. More recent work also includes MEMS for
environmental monitoring, RF MEMS and communications systems,
microfluidics, biomedical applications of MEMS, and nanoscale devices.
