Research Areas

MEMS @ MIT is a collection of more than 20 faculty from 7 academic departments in MIT. These faculty supervise the research of a team of more than 100 staff and students, and combined are conducting annual research with a contract volume of more than $12M/year. The research support for the Center faculty derives from a multitude of sponsorships, including government, foundations, and industry. In most instances, opportunities exist for organizations to leverage the results of these research activities into their own respective industries. The MEMS @ MIT industrial partnership helps to ensure that this leveraging can occur. The major research themes of the Center are:
