Dr. Hsu co-founded EBO USA, INC. (a wholly owned Foxconn Group Corporate Venture in Cambridge, MA, USA) in 2012 and has assumed the positions of Chief Executive Officer and Chairman since its inseption.  Dr. Hsu is currently Board Advisor of Scratch Wireless, the world’s first free mobile phone service; angel investor to WiTricity, Scratch Wireless, Origin Wireless, jjPlus, PolyQolor, Televy, Alfathermo, APMTD, and Colibri.  Charles works closely with his two venture partners, Stage 1 Ventures and Veteran Venture, in Boston, MA to co-invest in more than 25 start-ups coming out of MIT and Harvard. He serves as a member of Zena Technologies’ Board of Directors where he held the position of Chief Advisor since 2012.  He also serves as a member of InnovaNano’s Board of Directors where he held the position of Chief Advisor since 2013.  Previously, he was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of OptiMEMS, a provider of optical MEMS cross connect modules, until its acquisition by Gigabyte Technologies in 2006.

Charles is an educational council member of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a corporation member of Partners Healthcare, and has served on the President’s Advisory Council of Harvard Business School.  Dr. Hsu holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from University of California, Berkeley and a Doctor of Philosophy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology both in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences. Dr. Hsu is a former Microsystems Technology Laboratories (MTL) student member under the supervision of current MIT Provost Professor Martin Schmidt.
