PhD student Wenjie Lu was recognized with the Next Generation Workforce Recognition at the 2018 SEMI Industry Strategy Symposium in Half Moon Bay, CA, on January 17. Wenjie was selected by SEMI, the global electronics industry association, to be recognized for his research work titled: "Towards Sub-10 nm Diameter III-V Vertical Nanowire Transistors", which was presented earlier at the SRC TechCon 2017. Only one other student was selected for a similar recognition.

Wenjie has fabricated his devices in the facilities of the Microsystems Technology Laboratories (MTL) and the Electron Beam Lithography (EBL) facility at MIT under the supervision of Professor Jesus del Alamo. His research is supported by the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Lam Research, and Korean Institute of Science and Technology.
