Outlook Express 6 Setup Instructions for Windows
- Go to Tools/Accounts and click on the Mail tab.
- Click on the Add button and select Mail.
- Enter <your name> for Display Name.
- Enter <your MTL username> for E-mail address.
- On the next page, enter the following:
- Select IMAP in the Incoming Mail Server pulldown
- Incoming Server: mtl-pobox.mit.edu
- Outgoing Server: mtl.mit.edu
- On the next page, enter the following:
- Account name: <your MTL username>
- Uncheck the Remember Password check box
- Click Finish.
- With mtl-pobox.mit.edu highlighted in the Internet
Accounts dialog box, click on Properties.
- In the General tab selection, set the following:
- Reply-to address: <your MTL username>@mtl.mit...
- Mail Account name: MTL Mail Services
- Click on the Servers tab selection and set the following:
- Click My server requires authentication
- Click the Settings button.
- Make sure Use same settings as my incoming server is selected.
- Click on the Advanced tab selection and set the following:
- Under Outgoing mail, click onThis server requires a secure connection (SSL)
- Under Incoming mail, click onThis server requires a secure connection (SSL)
