Outlook 2002 Setup Instructions for Windows
- Go to Tools/Options and choose the Mail Setup panel.
- Click on E-mail Accounts.
- Choose Add a new e-mail account.
- Select IMAP for Server Type.
- Fill in the following on the next dialog box:
- Your Name: <your name>
- E-mail Address: <your MTL username>@mtl.mit...
- Incoming Mail Server (IMAP): mtl-pobox.mit.edu
- Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mtl.mit.edu
- User Name: <your MTL username>
- Uncheck Remember Password
- Click on More Settings and set the following in the next dialog box:
- Mail Account: MTL Mail Services
- Organization: MTL
- Reply E-mail: <your MTL username>@mtl.mit...
- Click on the Outgoing Server panel selection and set the following:
- Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
- Make sure Use same settings as my incoming server is selected.
- Click on the Advanced panel selection and set the following:
- Under Incoming Server (IMAP), checkThis server requires an SSL-secured connection
- Under Outgoing Server (SMTP), checkThis server requires an SSL-secured connection
- Click OK on the various dialog boxes and exit out of E-mail Accounts and Options
- You should now see mtl-pobox.mit.edu listed on the left hand side under Folder List
- Right click on mtl-pobox.mit.edu, and choose IMAP Folders from the pulldown menu.
- Uncheck the show only subscribed folders option and click OK.
