Matt Overlin is a senior undergraduate in MIT EECS. His research focuses on the core technology of electrospray, i.e., an electrohydrodynamic effect triggered by high electrostatic fields that produces very stable ultra-low flowrates (i.e. ~1uL./min.) from polarizable and electrically conductive liquids. Atmosphere pressure electrospray is a kind of maskless lithography fabrication which can be used to make micro/nanostructured elements for printable MEMS/NEMS and biochemical sensors. Such fabricated devices are capable of satisfying a wide variety of technological applications including wearable electronics, flexible displays, and low-power illumination (OLEDS). |
