Abstract Formatting Guidelines
We request a one-page abstract (due Friday, October 29, 2010) for publication in the MARC proceedings.
Parts of the Paper
There are 5 aspects of the research abstract:
- The abstract title
- The authors and sponsorship (if any)
- The abstract itself
- Figures (max. 2)
- References
The Word document we provide as a starting point contains notes about formatting rules, and also comes with a pre-defined header and footer. Please do not change the header and footer.
The abstract title
Please write your title in sentence case.
CORRECT: MIT’s Building 20 Commemoration Registration List
INCORRECT: MIT’s building 20 commemoration registration list
The authors and sponsorship
Give INITIALS and last name followed by a comma and space.
CORRECT: R. B. Adler, L. J. Chu, R. M. Fano
INCORRECT: RB Adler, LJ Chu, RM Fano
INCORRECT: Richard B. Adler, Lan Jen Chu, and Robert M. Fano
The abstract itself
We ask that you limit the abstract to no more than 300 words.
Figures
Each image file MUST be submitted separately as TIF or JPEG images. EPS files are acceptable. Min. resolution should be 1600 pixels wide.
Captions must begin with “Figure 1:”
Do not make references to figures in your abstract as “Fig.” Spell out the word “Figure” in full with the first letter capitalized.
References
Please number the references in brackets [1],[2]. We request that you use IEEE-style citations.
By submitting your abstract, you are implying submission of an abstract. This abstract will be published in the MARC2010 Conference Proceedings.
