The 5th Annual Medical Electronic Device Realization Center Workshop on Next-Generation Medical Electronic Systems: Present & Future Needs & Systems Solutions is a forum for experts from academia, the semiconductor and medical device industry, and the medical profession to exchange technical ideas, explore collaboration opportunities and define directions related to health care systems. The two-day event will focus on a broad range of next-generation medical systems including wearable monitoring devices, medical communication systems, point-of-use instruments, medical imaging, and biomedical signal processing.
The workshop will feature presentations given by leading experts in the medical electronics field covering state-of-the-art technology as well as important emerging trends. Topics to be covered include epidemiology, sensorineural assistance, oncology and pathology, aging, and blood disorders. Support for the workshop is provided by the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science, the Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity, the Microsystems Technology Laboratories, and the Research Laboratory of Electronics, all at MIT.
