Tyndall National Institute, one of Europe’s leading centres for ICT
research and development, is seeking to recruit a *Head of Micro-Nano
Systems Centre*.


Tyndall (€30 Million T/O, 450 staff) undertakes research into
Nanoelectronics, Photonics and Microsystems across Communications, Energy,
Health and Environment sectors, boasting high levels of industry engagement
and technology licensing.


Reporting directly to the Tyndall CEO, this role requires an
internationally-respected expert in the field of Micro and/or
Nanoelectronics (materials, devices, circuits or systems) with either
extensive academic or ICT industrial experience or a combination of both.
The individual will be skilled in identifying high potential technical
opportunities and new research topics for incubation, as well as mentoring
researchers to develop state of the art research programmes that produce
innovative solutions and commercial impact. Success in the role will be
measured by the generation of income from industry and EU/ESA programmes,
the development of research partnerships and the creation of new Irish jobs.
