Hello Jacob,
There has been a lot of consolidation in this space as the big driver for
this equipment -- PCB manufacturers -- have migrated to LDI. But there are
still numerous companies selling this specialty equipment (photoplotters)
such as Dai Nippon Screen
<http://www.screen.co.jp/eng/pcb/products/index.html>, First EIE
<http://www.firsteie.com/photoplotters.php>, Mivatec
<http://www.mivatec.com/Mask_Writer.php>, Orbotech
<http://www.orbotech.com/Eng/D2_ProductsGroup/MenuID/559/>, and UCamCo
<http://www.ucamco.com/en/hardware/photoplotters>.
It may take a very high volume to justify the ROI of an in-house printer as
you can buy these film masks
<http://www.photomaskportal.com/store/c37/Film_Masks.html> for very
reasonable prices.
Good luck!
Jim Carroll
